rikm On "Pallene", Saturn City presents four tracks that speak to the joys of Korg synths, songs that bring to mind the work of Kubrick, Dick, and others who saw the future from a temporal distance.

An excellent collection of music well worth exploring...

about

Pallene is one of three small moons that orbit between Mimas and Enceladus, referred to as the Alkyonides group. These three sisters may have split from Mimas or Enceladus, or all five may have been part of one body. Its proximity to the larger moons causes Pallene's orbit to osculate in resonance with Enceladus.
Pallene shares its path with a dust ring that may have been created by meteoroid impacts with the moon. This is called the Pallene Ring.

Pallene was first photographed by Cassini, and is named after the 7th daughter of the Titan, Alkyonides. In her death, she was transformed into a Kingfisher, or halcyon bird, which is said to breed in a nest floating at sea at the winter solstice, charming the wind and waves into calm.
